Sprites are a race of small, colorful mammaloid bipeds that appear in the Rainbow Brite series. Sprites are short, with two antenna with stars on their heads. Each Sprite is a different color, one for every color of the Color Kids. Only one sprite is white, and that is Twink.
History[]
The Sprites are creatures resembling small teddy-bears that inhabit the caves of Rainbow Land. The Sprites work in their mines to dig up Color Crystals and from them manufacture "Star Sprinkles", the magic crystals which form the colors.

Girl & Baby Sprites[]
Girl Sprites are pastel colored, and take care of the Baby Sprites. Girl Sprite's have lips and do not wear belts, and have a bow on their heads. All female Sprites are protected by Tickled Pink.
Baby Sprites are miniature sprites with diapers and stars on their heads. They are not old enough to have antennas. Originally Baby Sprites were of two colors, but in the 2004 re-released Baby images, they are of one color.

Spectra Sprites[]
Furry creatures from the Diamond Planet Spectra, who polish and protect it. They look like Rainbow Land Sprites, but with muted colors and circles on their heads instead of stars. Many of the Spectra Sprite's wear goggles to protect their eyes from the shine of the planet's surface, and wear fuzzy polishing slippers/shoes so not to scratch it.

Bombo[]
Bombo's title is "Polisher, first class", meaning he is very good as his job of skating/polishing Spectra.
Popo[]
Popo is another polisher who helps him. Popo doesn't draw too much attention to himself, and was able to stay out of the way of the Glitterbots, evil robots who controlled the Spectra Sprites in the Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer movie, and help save the day.
Orin[]
The most well known Spectra Sprite is Orin. It is unknown of the wondrous tale the Sprite's talk about when they tell their bedtime stories, but it is sure he is a brave, magical, and reasonable old Sprite. With pale lavender fur, not unlike the other Spectra Sprites, with golden orbs on his antenna, he much resembles a Twink-like leader, with a white mustache.
He taught Krys, and was On-X's original owner until the battle of Spectra and the Star Stealing Princess, proved his student was worthy and he could rest knowing the universe was safe.
Night Sprites[]
Furry creatures from the "stars" who aid their Color Kids with Star Shine Sprinkles. There is only one Night Sprite in Rainbow Land, and he is Nite Sprite and helps Moonglow. Instead of stars on his antenna, he has crescent moons.
